Trading Glossary

500+ Terms
Explained Simply

Never be confused by jargon again. Our A–Z glossary covers every trading term — explained in plain language with real examples.

Pip The smallest unit of price change in a currency pair. For most pairs, 1 pip = 0.0001. If EUR/USD moves from 1.1050 to 1.1051, it moved 1 pip.
Leverage Borrowing capital from your broker to control a larger position. 10:1 leverage means $100 controls $1,000. Amplifies both profit and loss.
Spread The difference between the buy (ask) and sell (bid) price. The broker's fee. Tighter spread = lower cost per trade.
Margin Call A broker's demand to deposit more funds when your losses reduce your margin below the required minimum — risk management 101.
Liquidity How easily an asset can be bought or sold without affecting its price. Bitcoin is highly liquid; small-cap altcoins often are not.
